- Accurate navigation
- Cononical URL’s (it’s a bit technical)
We include all of that as standard in all of our client web sites and it all helps increase your exposure, but alone, might not be as effective as you might help.
Off Page Search Engine Optimisation
It’s what happens outside of your own site that really matters to search engines.
- You need to get listed in directories – some of which you have to pay for.
- You may have to write and submit articles to specialist e-zines and social bookmarking sites
- You should try to get one-way links from relevant sites into your site
- You most definitely need to host your site on a unique IP address (all of our sites are)
- You might consider buying one-way text links from link brokers (but you have to be careful)
- You should open a Twitter account and gain as many followers as possible (you can buy these)
- As above, but with Facebook
As you can see, there are lots of things that you need to do in order to increase the profile of your site.
Link building alone is very time consuming and it’s harder to get reciprocal or one-way links from good, relevant sites than ever before.
For most smaller organisations, professional search engine optimisation is simply too expensive to consider.
Instead, we advise our clients to concentrate on the content of their web sites and see how well the site does in terms of natural placement.
After the site is launched, see how well you’re placed against your competitors.
